Paper books will eventually disappear, but libraries will stay for as long as human exist. Libraries are not just book keeping storages but rather public infrastructures for social interaction and knowledge exchange. Prototypes of such have been already proposed and tested out.

_GARBAGE INCINERATOR = ART HANGER

The plant was compartmentalized in accommodating waste treatment processes. Super tall void spaces can make ideal hangers for large art works like sculptures, statue, installations, etc. Even Statue of Liberty (46 meters, base to torch) can fit in one of the volumes at the Art Hanger. The existing catwalks, observation decks and vertical circulations once for burning waste materials now turn into viewing platforms for large scale artworks.

_LIBRARY + MALL + ART HANGER

Let’s hangout at the library and museum (as we do at malls on weekends). Malls are great places to hangout, so are libraries and museums. Bring people in, and let them explore the library and museum.
